Different types of Gyanavarniya and Darshnavarniya karm

Sutra No 10
Summary – We talked about Different types of Gyanavarniya and Darshnavarniya karm.

तत्प्रदोष-निहव-मात्सर्यान्तरायासादनोपघाता ज्ञानदर्शनावारणयोः || १०||
Aarth – Gyan aur dharshan ke Vishay mein pradosh, ninhav, hatsarya, antraay, aasadna aur upghat ke karne se gyanavarn aur darshanavaran karm ka aastrav hota hai.

Short Details-
There are two types of Aashrava,
1) Jeev aashrav
2) Ajeev Ashrav

Aashrav ke kaaran:
• Pradosh
• Ninhav
• Hatsarya
• Antraay
• Aasadna
• Upghat


As discussed in earlier sutra that there are 108 ashravs but due to the kashay all ashrav are paap related. Although there is one possibility of a kashay to be punya related i.e. Prashast Lobh, but this can happen only to muni aacharya.

Sutra 10:
Gyanavarniya karm gyaan ka uday hone se rokta hai. Hum yaha dekhenge ki Gyanavarniya karm kaun kaunse hai aur unke karan kya hai. Aur Darshnavarniya karm ke bhed kya kya hai.

Gyanavarniya Karma
i. Mati Gyan
ii. Shrut Gyan
iii. Aavdhi Gyan
iv. Hanha Paryay Gyan
v. Keval Gyan

i) Mati Gyan – Panch indriyon aur maan ke dvaara padartho ka jo gyan hota hai use Mati Gyan kehte hai. Yah 432 prakar ke hote hai. Adhyay-1 Sutra-9 mein 5 gyan thode vistaar se bataye gaye hai.

Udaharan – Jaise kisi vastu ko dekh kar jaan lena ki yah vastu kis kaam aayegi. Kalam dekh kar yah jaan lena ki yah likhne ke kaam aayegi, yah Mati Gyan hai.

ii) Shrut Gyan – Bhootkal aur vartmaankal ki ghatnao ke sambandh ko jaanna Shrut gyan hai. Mati gyan se jaane hue padarth se sambandh rakhnewale kisi dusre padarth ke gyan ko Shrutgyan kehte hai.

Shrut gyan ke do bhed hai
(a) Anaksharatmak Shrut gyan – Karn indriya ke siva baki ki char indriyon ke dvara hone wale Matigyan ke baad jo visesh gyan hota hai use Anaksharatmak Shrutgyan kehte hai.
Udaharan – Svayam ghat ko jaan kar yan jaanna ki isske kya upyog hai, yah kis kis kaam mein aa sakta hai.
(b) Aksharatmak Shrut gyan – Karn indriya se hone wale Matigyan ke baad jo vishesh gyan hota hai use Aksharatmak Shrut gyan kehte hai.
Udaharn – “Ghat" akshar sunkar Karnendriya ke dvara jo Matigyan hua aur phir vastav mein jab ghade ke dekha to yeh jaan liya ki yah ghada hai aur yah paani bharne ke kaam aata hai, ise Aksharatmak Shrutgyan kehte hai.

Udaharan – Kalam dekh kar yen jaan lena ki is mein kaunsi shiahi daal sakte hai. Paane ke ghat ko dekh kar yeh jaan lena ki aisa hi ghat mitti ka bhi ban sakta hai.

iii) Aavdhi Gyan – Dravya, Kshetra, Kaal aur Bhav se hue gyan ko Aavadhi Gyan kehte hai. Is gyan parpti ke liye kisi bhi indriyon ki aavshyakta nahi hai. Yah gyan aatma ko hi hota hai. Yah gyan Muni maharaj aur Devo ko hi hota hai.
iv) Manah Paryay Gyan – Manushya lok mein vartman jeevo ke mann mein sthit jo roopi padarth hai unka saral ya kathil rup se vichar kar rahe hai ya bhavishya mein karenge unko spasht jaan lena Manah Paryay gyan kehte hai. Yah gyan keval Muni maharaj ko hi hota hai.
v) Keval Gyan – Sab Dravyon ke sab paryayo ko ek saath spasth jaan lena, ise Keval Gyan kehta hai. Yah sirf Kevali bhagvan ko hi hota hai.

Gyanavarniya karm ka bandh ke kuch karan
• Gyan ko chupana – pata hai phir bhi kisi ko nahi batana
• Viradhna – Gyan ka galat upyog karna
• Aacharya Maharaj ke gyan ko joothlana
• Gyani ki irsha
• Dhyan se nahi sunna
• Galat gyan dena
• Koi gyan le raha ho use badha pohchana
Kashay ki vajah se Gyan ke aashrav hote hai.

Darshanvarniya Karm ke bhed
• Chakshu
• Achakshu
• Avadhi
• Keval
• Nidra
• Nidra Nidra – Bahot hi gaadh nidra, jaise nidra me chalna, bolna ya karya karna
• Prachala
• Prachala Prachala
• Snaangruthhi
Ab sutra-10 ke aarth ko vistaar se samajte hai

Pradosh – Koi purush moksh ke saadhan tatvagyan ka updesh karta hai, ya phir mukh se kuch bhi na kehkar hriday mein uss se irsha aade rakna Pradosh hai. Ek hi karya ke bhaav se ya to Gyanavarniya karm ya to Darshnavarniya karm bandhta hai.

Ninhav - Khud ko Shashtra ka gyan hote hue bhi kisi ke poochne par yah keh dena ki mein nahi jaanta, ise Ninhav kehta hai. Yadi hame kisi cheez ka sampoornta se gyan nahi hai aur koi uske baare mein puchta hai to yah bata kar bolna ki mujhe iske baare poora nahi pata hai to Ninhav nahi hota.

Hatsarya – Shashtra ka gyan hai phir bhi kisi ko isliye nahi batana ki wah mere barabar ho jayega, ise Hatsarya kehte hai.

Aantray – Yadi koi gyan prapti kar raha hai, usmein kisi bhi roop se baadha daalna Aantray hai.

Aasaadna – Samyagyan ka samaadar na karn aur ulta uske oopdeshta ko rok dena aasaadna hai.

Upghat – Samyagyan ko ekdam se ghootha batlana upghaat hai.
